"Uncertain Futures in Humanitarian Spaces" Paper Workshop

Dr Léonie Newhouse visited with us in December to meet with students and to workshop her paper on young men and their navigation of post-peace economies in Juba, South Sudan. Her fantastic piece "“Uncertain futures and everyday hedging in a humanitarian city” recently came out here in Transactions of the Institute of British Geographers. Congrats Leonie!
"Feminist GIS, Urban Geography & Shopping in Iran and Uganda"

In this week's meeting we were joined by Dr Nazgol Bagheri, feminist GIS scholar and urban geographer. Nazgol's work has focused on spaces of consumption in Tehran, Iran and we are looking forwrad to collaboring on a paper on shopping malls in our research sites. Nazgol worked with Dominica Whitesell to workshop a series of maps she had created on shappoing spaces in Uganda. They're part of a piece currently under review, thanks Nazgol!
